Swatch Eye Candy

April this year is packed full of events: Mother’s Day, Royal Wedding, Easter. The weather is fantastic too. It’s almost like the summer has come before the spring.

As usual, I have been busy swatching. This time, I am using a Japanese yarn called Premio from Olympus (Tasmanian Polwarth blend; 124 yd [114 m]/40 g). They are not available in UK yet but it will be soon.

I am used to design and knit with Jamieson’s of Shetland yarn which is very tweedy (and which I love). With softer yarn, I always find less rustic and more modern looks (both the stitches and colours) are suitable. I really loved the way it felt through my fingers while knitting with the new yarn from Japan. The yarn has a lovely lustre and squishy. Here are the swatches!

I won’t say what the theme of the swatches is or what they are supposed to look like as I would like you to guess ;)

Happy knitting!

Is it just me or the time is actually flying at the speed of light? It has been a very busy couple of weeks for me. I have been making lots of swatches :D So today I thought I would share them with you. For copyright reasons, I cannot show you the actual designs and the full patterns.. but hopefully you get a gist of what I have been creating.

Fair Isle knitting is so therapeutic. I am determined to make one garment with FI for myself this year.

Before I write a post about girl’s Christmas gift ideas, I wanted to show you some of my swatch work. Images are quite zoomed in due to the copyright issue but hope you like them… I have been so busy with knitting and magazine work recently but I am loving every stitch of it.

My personal life is good. Wesley is sitting in an exam this weekend so I am praying that he would pass. Our flat is nearly ready for us to move in, BUT we are still having a trouble with the builders. They are absolutely diabolical and I am, again, praying that all will end on a good term…

Meanwhile, enjoy the swatches! :D
