Hi Rondy!
yay! I am so happy that this technique is useful. Me too, I love single stripe patterns and it's interesting to know that you have used 4 balls of wool. That also makes sense! :D So much fun and so much to knit! Thank you for your comment ;)

This makes so much sense and I can't thank you enough for printing this info, I can't wait to use your technique on my next project. I love single row stripes and have always worked with four balls, two of each color and ran the braid up the sides. This seems so much better.

Hi Allison,
Thank you for your comment. With garter stitch you don't generally need to pick up the wraps, but sometimes depending on the yarn and the gauge it may create holes if the wraps are not picked up. So in your case, you may want to pick up the wraps on row 15.
I have a <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zccgIfV4pZM" title="Short-row Knitting Video Tutorial" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">video tutorial</a> for short-row knitting which you might find helpful.
I am not sure, however, it has not come up with frills (even with holes, the pattern should become a frill). If you like, do please send me an e-mail with the photo so that I will be able to see what may have gone wrong.
Hope this helps.
Happy knitting!
x

wow ... what a great pattern - unfortunately I can not find the instructions. The link leads to ravelry and there, the link to come here. Unfortunately, my English skills are too small: (But I think the socks really beautiful!

Thank you Kyoko!
I'll get the back copy. My mum said she'd knit me an Aran cardigan like the ones she used to make for my Dad, but I think this pattern is even lovelier than the ones she made for him!

I am confused. I was trying the #3, short row frills and followed the directions but I did not come up with any frills.. just a weird shape with holes were the wraps were.

What am I missing??
