I hope you had a great week / Thanksgiving day! Do you all have your furry hats on? Hope so! While I was doing today’s Furry Friday, I was thinking what event occurred on the exact day and I found cool BBC and Wikipedia sites.
Today is all about Charmaine from Glitzer. She makes super cool handmade jeweleries. They are fun and distinct. Many of them have animal theme which we all like
She has a really cool blog and has an idea section which she posts tutorials etc. It’s really good. The most recent one she has done was how to make a product catalogue. She also has a facebook page which we can be her fans!
About Charmaine:
I am Charmaine Leung, owner and designer of the jewelry line Glitzer http://glitzer.etsy.com. I am from Hong Kong but have spent significant amount of time traveling, studying and working in UK / Germany / Singapore / Hong Kong. I always have trouble to find nice pieces that will bring me from day to night especially to suit business attires – I love jewelry pieces that are fun, with a sense of humor, unique, versatile, stylish and trendy and that forms the basis of my design. My hand me down pearl necklace from my mum was a trigger to starting up my own jewelry line Glitzer.

Milo (nickname: My) (4 years and 8 months): I'm like melted butter when I saw this photo!
How did you meet Milo?
We previously had a German shepherd, Jolly, who passed away at the age of 18. During the bereavement, my parents came across a person that had a litter of golden retrievers. Milo was the last of the litter to be adopted. My parents could not resist the cuteness and how adorable Milo was so we took Milo home.
How would you describe Milo’s personality?
Milo is very stubborn, cheeky, playful, mischievous and likes to show her importance. She loves to ignore commands, and only does so when she feels like.
What is Milo’s favourite toy?
Soft toy mouse, squeaky felt dummy, baseball and plastic bottles
What is Milo’s favourite food?
Sweet potato

She is definitely a "sweet potato" kind of dog. Check out her dink nose!
What is your favorite website for pets (e.g. shop, arts, toys etc.)?
Kong – http://www.kongcompany.com
What do you like most about living with Milo?
Milo is an integrated part of the family and we simply cannot ignore it. Having a dog is so much fun, especially is an integral part of the family where you share fun, laughter and emotions with. Sundays and public holidays have to be dedicated to Milo. Somehow her body clocks knows that whenever my father is at home for the day it is a weekend / public holiday and she will nag my father to take her out to the pier or for long walks.
What is the most annoying thing that Milo does?
Milo barks whenever she is in the car, non stop from the start of destination to the end destination. She is a bit of a show-off; needs to tell every one that she is out and about.

Some animals just know how to look super cute.
What is the most memorable moment with Milo?
The most memorable moments are whenever I have to leave home for a trip. When the suit cases are out, and we have to leave home she always has this sad face in her that you cannot resist not returning home to see her.
Which part of Milo’s life style do you care most about?
Her health. She is pretty young in her age but she has been having a lot of problems with her hips and her weight. We are going to have blood drawn soon to check whether she is hypothyroid, and have been giving her supplements to improve her joints.
What has living with Milo taught you?
The dog is not only a pet, you need to incorporate your lifestyle with it. Don’t ignore your pet’s emotions!
And lastly, what is your favourite charity organization (human / animals etc..)?
Guide Dogs – http://www.guidedogs.org.uk/
Thank you Charmaine and Milo!
So the next Furry Friday (4/12/09) will be:

Hi Kyoko!
Thank you so much for featuring Milo as the Furry Friend of Friday! I still cant’ believe she has made a space in the Internet world!
Thank you also for making her look so angelic with a hint of mischief! Yes and she really loves sweet potato and most fruits! To help her weight loss she has been more or less pseudo vegetarian.
Many thanks once again for putting this together! Love it, tweeted it and shared it with my friends and family!
Love,
Charmaine

Hello, Charmaine and Milo! Oh, but Milo is a super sweetie-pie…look at that face, those eyes! I could just kiss her nose… Loved hearing their story… and Char’s jewelry is FANTASTIC–very stylish pieces. Thank you for another terrific week of fun here, Kyoko… Have a great weekend, my friend

Hi Tracy!
Hehe! Milo is such a sweet dog, isn’t she? I love the fact that she likes not to listen to the order and that she eats sweet potato!! I think dogs tend to eat different kinds of food than cats. Kumo likes to eat fruits (except citrus) and some baby leaf vegetables, but Wata just eats meat and does’t understand why Kumo likes fruits so much.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend! ;D

I absolutely love reading your Furry Friday posts, Kyoko!! I’m always really looking forward to them!!
Have a great weekend!!
Hi Pili!
Milo is such a “teddy-bear” dog, right? hehe! When I was very little I used to have two dogs and they were also teddy-bear dogs like Milo.
Thank you so much for such positive encouragement.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I am Charmaine’s Mum. Thanks for featuring Charmaine & Milo. Charmaine, I never know that the pearl necklace inspires you to start jewellery line Glitzer. It is a gift from the heart, the same as your handmade jewellery, conveys sentiment besides originality & creativity.
Charmaine has made vivid presentation of Milo. You know why we named her Milo. Her fur is darker than “Horlick” but lighter than “Ovaltine”. To us, Milo is a blend of all the “goodies”.
Hi Christina!
Charmaine’s design is so original and they reflect her personality. I really hope her business takes off. Can’t wait to see her in London as it has been many years since I last saw her!!
So lovely to “meet” you
Milo is such a sweet dog!! Yes, I can see she is a blend of all the goodies. It really made me smile that she likes not to listen to commands and likes to eat sweet potato!!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
