Origami Pullover, my new design is now printed in Interweave Knit.Wear Spring 2012. First time ever on Knit.Wear!!! I am so excited to see it in the mag!!! woo hoo!

Inspired by the way the Japanese origami papers are beautifully folded…

I placed this ruffle-like shape on either side of the waistline. They are acqually squares but when the garment is worn, it drapes to look like a little butterflies…

There is a single folding ribbon pattern at the centre back and front. I kept it minimal but interesting.

Structurally it’s simple. The body is worked bottom up in circular knitting up the underarm. Back and front are then divided and joined at shoulders.

Sleeve are also worked in circular knitting and attached afterwards. This means I could make a modern looking garment while keeping the classic set-in style.

Zitron Kimono was an ideal yarn to work with. Beautiful shade, texture and fibre. I want to knit with this yarn more!
I think the magazine will be out very shortly. There are so many beautiful designs in this issue. I just can’t believe I could be along with so many superb designers. I am so thankful. I just can’t wait to see the actual magazine!

Kyoko, that is GORGEOUS. It’s so elegant and beautiful. No wonder it got into Knit.Wear. It’s exactly the sort of garment that will appeal to so many people as it is completely wearable as well as interesting to knit. You are such a clever lady
Chrissy!

Your comment has really made my day. Thank you so much for such lovely words. I was thrilled to have the design accepted in Knit.Wear!
Me thinks this design would be nice with grayish shades with light alpaca or camel fibre for winter.
Hope you are well and had a lovely Jubilee weekend!

That is so so gorgeous, Kyoko!! I love how amazingly simple you make it look when I can’t even begin to wrap my head about how to go about it! What a fantastic piece! Congratulations on being published in Kint.Wear!
Hello Pili girl!
I see you bake amazing cakes and I have no doubt in my mind you can knit if you practice.

It’s gorgeous! I love it.
Thank you Michelle!
Congratulations for the Interweave debut! I love the design. It is so modern and looks easy to knit…. I must try to knit one for myself when my fingers are healed…
Thank you very much Yumiko san! I’m sorry that your fingers are not 100% Make sure you rest it properly. I had RIS quite recently and I didn’t knit for some time to make sure it was OK. I heard that acupuncture is good but haven’t tried it. I use creams with Chamomile Blue in it. Apparently it has anti-inflammatory effect.

I have ordered the magazine, and Origami is one of the designs I intend to knit! I like it so much and you really should be very proud of it. The original yarn is probably a very good choice, but I would like to make it in pure silver grey linen.
I m so looking forward to my copy of the magazine which will probably arrive in the end of next week. The clean and simple lines of the designs in knit.wear really appeals to me and I will probably knit at least a handful of the garments in this issue.
Hi Anna!

Thank you so much for your lovely comment
Oh, yes, grey linen would look absolutely fabulous. I cannot wait to see it (are you ravelry?)
This issue is very good isn’t it? I am also looking forward to receiving the copy
Hope you have a lovely weekend!
