Hope you all had a great weekend! I had a fabulous day with Mary at Intertwined Crafts on Sunday afternoon meeting with friends and eating Vietnamese food
For me, summer is a cruicial time to create knitting patterns for the winter season. So I have been working really hard designing, sampling, patterning etc. I will soon be introducing adult version of the Flower Girl’s Knitted Bolero with brand new Jamieson’s of Shetland DK in fabulous mirage colour.

New colour from Jamieson's of Shetland DK. This one is called Mirage. I love the specks of colours in magical blue!
Slowly but surely, my new men’s “simple but not simple” crewneck sweater is also being completed. This week I must calculate on the armhole knitting.

Another new colour from Jamieson's of Shetland called Camel. This is in Heather (aran weight yarn).
But the busier you get, the more distractions you encounter. While I am busy knitting and doing all the work for the shop, I can’t but notice how long my cats have enlongated due to hot weather.

Kumo is such a long cat but he is even longer during the hot weather.

I then notice Wata elongated too.
So I decided to measure their body (yes, I am totally being distracted!).

You know what will happen when you use a tape measure next to a cat.
Kumo is so uncooperative. He just wants to destroy everything including a tape measure. I then try on Wata as he is a slightly better-behaved cat.
I kept thinking why I am doing this? If your pet(s) ever get elongated due to hot weather, do not be tempted to measure them. It is a toal waste of time. Now, back to knitting.

Hehehehe, what a cute post! Stretching and growing cats!
A lil distraction can be good when your head gets a bit clogged after being too focused on something!
Have a great week, Kyoko!
Hi Pili!
hehe! It’s really quite entertaining to see Kumo and Wata elongated in the sun. Today is cloudy (for once in London!!) so they are more like pill bugs on my bed.
I read somewhere that stroking cats and dogs relaxes people and it really is true. So yes, I think kitty distraction can be a good thing when my head is full of stitch numbers!

Wow! They are soooooo looooooong !!
Cats don’t like hot and cold. What season(s) do they like ?
I see a Norwegian forest cat who have enlongated by the window frame of the opposite side condminium. The cat is flatting on his back. I can always see his tammy. He never shows up the window in cold winter time.
Hi Mari!
I think kitties are genius of finding the most comfortable place.
From looking at the photo of Kumo being measured, he is definitely over 50 cm long. Their “fe”losophy is “grass is definitely greener on the other side”. So when Wata finds Kumo elongated and being measured, Wata does the same!
Hehe, how sweet is your Norwegian forest cat having the “elongation” phenomena! He must be very long and fluffy. Flatting his back – he must be a real fun cat!

Hi Kyoko!
I’m glad you had a good time on Sunday, it was good to catch up with everyone. Wow, I didn’t know that cat elongated during the hot weather, I must show my daughter, she will be amazed. It’s good to have some distractions during the day, and spending some time with Kumo and Wata is a good distraction.
I will chat with you soon.
Mary
Hi Mary!
Hehe, Kumo and Wata have shrunk now as the weather is cooler. There are so much distraction everyday but my constant caffeine level is keeping me concentrated
Chat to you soon!

I can see how easy you can get distracted with such pretty cats! I have been wanting to get a dog, but I can see that being yet another distraction from work and OH :S I might have to think hard if I am ready to get one or not.
Intertwined Crafts is such a lovely blog.. thank you for adding her link in this post
Hi Lizzet!
. Yesterday I saw a gorgeous King Charles Spaniel puppy. He was sooooooooo sweet and wagging his tail to the owner. To me K and W are my best friends and they always keep me happy no matter what.
If you love animals, you will never regret having a pet in your life!
Dogs would be so fun

Hi, Kyoko! hahaha… our Charlie has been doing the same thing… stre…tch…ing… tee-hee! Very cute photos… and love seeing glimpses of your knitting. I finally posted some knitting today. ;o) It’s great to be back here catching up with you after being away a few days MIA and being unwell–on the mend now, I think… Happy Days ((HUGS))
Hi Tracy!
AAww, super cute Charlie! I totally think knitting is the most therapeutic hobby in the world. Everytime I am unwell or under the weather, I pick up my needles and just work few rows. All of a sudden I am happier
So glad that you are getting better. My knee is on the mend too. I tried to run 5k yesterday but decided not to take it too much so I stopped after 2.5k. Hopefully I will be able to run properly again.

This is so funny. My moggies are also elongated – seeking every last patch of shade to stretch out in.
Why do we get so distracted when we are busy? It’s infuriating isn’t it – right now, I should be making a chicken curry for dinner tonight, but instead I’m catching up on blog reading. Must go now and make curry or we won’t eat tonight and Mr Monda will be very unhappy at that!

Hi Monda!
There is something so comical about it.
Hehe!! I love elongated cats
Mmmmm! Chicken curry sounds very nice. I hope you have managed to make it. I am currently making a bread for tonight but not sure what else to eat!

That yarn is so nice. Our cat stretches out to cool down too and I thought he was a long cat! I might measure him to see if he is as long as yours!
Hi Linda!
hehe, yes please let me know how long your kitty is

All cats in the UK are elongated!
Right now, Kumo and Wata are sleeping on the same spot yet again but this time they are doughnut shape
