I want to share with you today a one-page pdf I made recently. In Simply Knitting issue 99, there are 6 small gift knitting patterns for friends and family using Sublime Yarns. This was a fun project and I really enjoyed designing all of them.

One of the patterns is a cable tea cosy. It features slip stitch cable patterns (looks like one colour cable is floating over the two-coloured garter stitch). Designing a knitted tea cosy seem like an easy task but if you think about all shapes and sizes of teapot available in the world, it can be tricky. This is especially hard if I wanted to design one that the lip of the teapot comes out (so that you can keep the cosy on while pouring) because the size of the cosy has to be pretty close to the teapot itself.

So what I did was to base the knitting pattern on the widely available teapot that are reasonable in price, and I choose London Pottery Company Globe 4-cup Teapot. I recorded all the measurements for the teapot and made into a downloadable pdf so that if anyone ever want to design a knitted tea cosy you can use it.
