Wesley and I are currently selling our place and hunting for a new house in London. It’s been quite difficult for us last week because we thought everything would go smoothly but one person within the same chain decided to pull out and everything fell apart. Although it was disappointing, this means I have more time to brew ideas for my new dream (ish) home. One thing I have to do is to organise my knitting office and I have been drooling over some vintage home decor goods for storing my knitting needles and notions as well as hunting for new vintage knitting items to add to my collection:
STORING NEEDLES
I used to collect giant pickled gherkin bottles to put my needles. They are good but not very stable. So I found these:

Workman's Industrial Tool Box by Hindsvik. You could put your needles at the bottom and notions on the top section of the tool box. It would be a lovely display too.
NOTIONS

By susantique. I love this. I could put my darning needles, thread, stitch markers, fair isle bobbins in these little sections.

Loving this fishing basket. It would so allow me to knit outdoor. I don't have to worry about my ball of wool rolling out of my bag.
KNITTING FINDS

Last but not least... a bakelite yarn holder by katrinaswoolworld. This would prevent me from forever chasing the ball of yarn or yarn attack by Kumo.

love your collection, especially the fishing basket for knitting alfresco! Best of luck with the move too.
Hi Ruth,

Hehe! I was browsing the vintage items for hours and hours and when I saw it, I knew what I was going to use it for
Oh I love knitting outdoor (except on the beach – if it’s windy then the yarn and the garment gets messy with sand….). LOL

Such good ideas! I am working on storage ideas for my new “project lab” (aka: craft room). So many options, so little space!
I know what you mean! There are so many nice things around. For me, it’s either I don’t have enough space or kumo and wata destroying them. I bet your chairman is a good behaved kitty.
LOVE all these old, pretty and whimsical finds and other goodies… terrific post, Kyoko! I like the old, used, loved and nostalgic.
) Happy Day, my friend ((HUGS))
Hi Tracy!
I love old things too. Strangely the older and the more used (ie battered) the better (LOL)! I visited some charity shops the other day and there were so many wonderful finds. I bet there are many vintage things in Norway too:D

I hope the house move starts to go smoothly again, so stressful isn’t it. I love the basket, perfect for summer picnic knitting!
Hi Linda!
Buying and selling a property isn’t easy! Noone wants be in a chain. Its so hard in central london especially. But we will get there sooner or later.
I am seriously thinking about the fish basket. The weather is so nice now and I have to knit outside!

I am curious which ‘unique stitches not possible by hand’ that machine can make though…
Hi Ammerins!
I have a book about retro vintage Japanese inventions and they are hilarious!
Hehe, I know what you mean! Love all these vintage gadgets. They always claim some amazing specs

Good luck with the move
Hi Sarah,
so far, it has been quite difficult. The place also needs to be suitable for my kitties (well, to me that is the most important things). Fingers crossed that we will find something nice
Thank you

Hi Kyoko,
Sorry to hear your house fell through. Hopefully things will be even better next time. Did you get any of my emails by the way? I tried sending photos in a new format – I wasn’t sure about it as I’ve never used it before but I’m guessing they didn’t get to you. They were the photos of my cat that I’d promised. Anyway let me know if you still want to see them and I’ll try sending them another way.
Take care and have a good weekend

Excellent taste! They are are My favourites must be the animal hangers! You must show us some pics once everything is in place
Hi Lizzet!
These animal hangers are so cute aren’t they? It would make such a fun impression in the hallway. Sometimes I wonder why people don’t make things they made many years back. Everything breaks so easily nowadays!!
Hehe! Thank you
