Knitting may be a traditional craft, but it’s also constantly evolving and that’s what makes it so exciting!  Cotton & Cloud is all about innovative techniques and trendy, wearable hand-knit designs, which are fun to knit for you and the special people in your life.

Cotton & Cloud releases two Knitting Design Collections each year - Spring and Autumn - with a couple of extra-special patterns in between!  Each new collection features the latest trends and new techniques, which underpin my innovative knitting designs.

This showcase of my work is intended for creative knitters all around the world, to browse and buy your favourite patterns for exclusive and sophisticated knitwear designs.

Cotton & Cloud designs are also regularly featured and sold through U.K. and U.S. knitting magazines and books, as well as many independent knitting shops around the globe. 

How it all began

I first started to knit as a child, under the guidance of my grandmother in Japan and just never stopped! Later, when I was a boarding-school pupil in the U.K., I was able to learn English knitting with the help of the school matron.

And although my background is scientific, I have never lost my enduring interest in knitting for myself and my lovely family and friends!

New techniques

My aim has always been to design fashionable knitwear that’s also enjoyable to knit! My knitting patterns are not always easy, but keen knitters will find that learning new techniques and increasing their proficiency is very rewarding.

For example, they may introduce you to useful new techniques, like short rows, which allow you to knit unusual shapes or time-saving techniques, such as circular knitting.

Knitting durable and fashionable knitwear for those you love is a great way to spread happiness!

Why call my hand-knitting design house Cotton & Cloud? 

Well, I named my design company after my two much-loved cats, Cotton and Cloud, to symbolise the love that goes into my knitting designs.  I have always viewed knitting as a wonderfully creative and practical way to show your favourite people how much you care, with fabulous hand-crafted, made-to-measure garments!
