Crochet Table Runner ⨯ Easy Crochet Pattern | LATTICE TABLE RUNNER
Recently, my mom asked for a table runner for her very long (but very pretty) dining table. She's got a rustic, not-quite-colonial & not-quite-farmhouse aesthetic, so I debated for a long time on what to make. We both envisioned a crisp natural cotton to offset the warm wood of the tabletop, and so I considered a macramé runner, but ultimately decided that was more my style than hers.
Instead, we decided on a runner designed with filet crochet. It's classic, simple, and offers a stunning amount of negative space. For those who have never heard of filet crochet before, it's basically a grid of (usually) double crochet stitches and chain spaces. For this runner, I went with a very simple diamond motif pattern, which is broken into 3 segments and divided by equally simple borders.
This runner was designed for an 84-inch table. However, the included chart should provide a basis for adjusting the length as you see fit. Add another diamond or two if you've got one of those gorgeous long farmhouse tables, or simply eliminate a diamond if the runner is too long for you.
